Operations Research Analyst

Job Duties:
  • Collect and Analyze information obtained from Diversified Data-sources like Enterprise Databases (SQL Server, Oracle), report systems (Power BI, Tableau) and business leaders to conceptualize and define operational objectives and develop decision support software, service or products.
  • Assess the current operational effectiveness, efficiency and problems, for the betterment of existing operating strategies, plans, or procedures.
  • Analyze in all aspects of business and unit operations through Operations Research techniques, produce trends assessments and analysis using tools like Power BI, Tableau.
  • Provide the subject matter expertise by leveraging data mining (R-language, Orange),statistical analysis (SAS, SPSS), simulations, predictive modeling, causal analysis, and geospatial analysis.
  • Formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making and policy formulation,
  • Create and adjust plans as needed by using deep insights, Dashboards, Data stories and Data Explorations from BP's EA2 (Enterprise Analytics Automation) to understand business drivers for streamline the planning process and create supply chain plans that are smooth, synchronized and responsive.
  • Assist and advise managers decide how to allocate resources, develop procurement schedules, manage the supply chain and set prices.
  • Monitor and review the performance of sales teams, to ensure targets are met and also to set Sales Targets.
  • Direct and coordinate purchasing, warehousing, distribution and financial forecasting activities (TM1, Hyperion) to limit costs, improve accuracy, customer service and safety.
  • Attend trade meetings and related publications (Stone world, Contemporary stone & tile Design) to obtain information about market conditions, business trends, environmental regulations and industry developments.
  • Provide business and customer insights leveraging both survey responses and customer interaction to product procurement teams so that products can be tailored to client(s) needs.
  • Author reports & dashboards, prepare data stories and other documents showcasing critical investigation and recommendations for business executives managers and relevant resources.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, commerce, engineering or a related field. Master’s degree would be advantageous.
  • 5+ years’ hands on experience on PL, SQL and RDBM’s like Oracle, SQL Server.
  • 4+ years’ experience in Statistical Analytics tools like SAS, SPSS and Microsoft Office products
  • 3+ years’ experience in BI tools like Power BI, Tableau
  • Professional knowledge of mathematical programming, data mining, statistical, econometric and other scientific methods and techniques, Knowledge of business principles
  • 3+ years’ experience in Data Mining like Orange and R programming experience, and proficiency in developing prototype software applications
  • 4+ years’ experience in Financial Planning, Budgeting and forecasting tools like Cognos TM1, Oracle Hyperion.
  • Experience in operations research, mathematics, and/or statistics in an industrial / applied environment,
  • Experience with predictive modeling and simulation
  • 5+ years of Specialized and Deep Functional business experience in various aspects of SCM like Production Planning, Materials management, business forecasting & demand planning, Sales & Distribution and CRM
  • Experience in agile environments such as Scrum and Kanban.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills to effectively communicate technical information to all levels of internal and external personnel
  • Self-motivated, organized and capable of handling multiple responsibilities and projects simultaneously

Job Duties:
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolving hardware, software, or other network related issues and system problems, and replacing defective components when necessary.

  • Assist in network modelling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software.
  • Implement and provide technical support for voice services and equipment, such as private branch exchange, voice mail system, and telecom system.
  • Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes.
  • Gather data pertaining to customer needs, and use the information to identify, predict,interpret, and evaluate system and network requirements.
  • Research new technologies by attending seminars, reading trade articles, or taking classes,and implement or recommend the implementation of new technologies.
  • Perform network maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption.
  • Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware, or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance.
  • Maintain network hardware and software, direct network security measures, and monitor networks to ensure availability to system users.
